Turbulence sensor for crack and pore detection on flat surfaces

Developed for non-contact and non-destructive testing of surface texture, our turbulence sensor can be used on almost all solid materials such as metal, glass, ceramics and coatings. It is completely resistant to external influences such as temperatures, dust/oil wetting or other environmental properties. With a detection accuracy of up to 10 µm for cracks and pores, even the smallest deviations can be detected. The TBS-R variant was also developed for the special requirements of testing inside pipes or bores.

Advantages over other surface texture testing methods

Scope of testing
  • Non-contact and non-destructive testing
  • Robust against external influences, such as optical surface properties, temperatures or dust/oil wetting
  • Clear, easily interpretable measurement signal, direct PLC connection possible
  • Recognizable defect size: 50 µm
  • Minimum testable internal pipe diameter: 10 mm
  • Maximum scanning speed approx. 100 mm/s
  • Air jet outlet at right angles at the end (test up to 0mm hole bottom)
  • Measuring spot diameter: 0.5 to 1.0 mm
  • Working pressure: 0.25 to 0.75 bar
  • Working distance: 0.5 to 1.5 mm
